Korean Sweet and Savory Meatballs
These Korean-inspired meatballs are baked in an oven and tossed in a sweet soy sauce glaze. They are perfect as an appetizer or a meal.

Glaze

dark brown sugar

soy sauce

Instructions
Meatballs
Puree or finely chop onion, scallion, garlic, and ginger.
Add all the meatball ingredients in a large bowl and mix.
Form 1½ inch balls and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Bake at 400° F for 25–28 minutes
Glaze
Add all the glaze ingredients in a sauce pan.
Boil over medium-low heat while constantly stirring.
Remove from heat once the glaze starts to bubble.
Combine
Gently toss meatballs with glaze to cover.
Optionally, top with chopped scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
Notes
While the meatballs made from scratch add more flavor and Korean identity, in a pinch, you can use frozen meatballs as an alternative.
