Can you imagine eating a bowl of icy snow on a hot summer day? The thought alone provides relief from the heat. But you don’t have to stop there. Make this recipe and you can actually cool yourself by eating snowy shaved ice! This easy summer dessert is topped with fresh berries to indulge the senses with beautiful colors, as well as sweet, tart flavors.
The first ingredient in this Snowy Shaved Ice recipe is (surprise!) shaved ice. There are two ways you can make the shaved ice. If you have an ice shaving machine, snow cone machine, or a strong blender, you can use it to make shaved ice. Just be sure to use frozen milk instead of regular ice. Using frozen milk adds creaminess to the traditional shaved ice or snow cone.
But do not worry if you don’t have a fancy gadget to shave the ice. As I did for this recipe, you can still enjoy shaved ice as long as you have a freezer and a Ziploc bag! Scroll down to see how you can make this delicious, yet super simple shaved ice with tools you likely already have!
Ingredients

- 2 cups Milk
- 1/2 cup Strawberries
- 1/2 cup Blueberries
- 1/2 cup Raspberries
- 1/2 cup Blackberries
- 1/4 cup Sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
To make the Snowy Shaved Ice, you first need to freeze the milk. Pour 2 cups of milk into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag. Seal the bag and place the bag flat in the freezer for 2–3 hours. The milk should be frozen nearly solid yet easily breakable. If the milk has frozen solid, leave it out at room temperature for 10 minutes. Then use a a sturdy object to break up the frozen milk, such as a rubber mallet or a rolling pin. Pour the “shaved” frozen milk into a bowl.

Next, top the shaved milk ice with fresh berries and sweetened condensed milk. Fresh berries bring a sweet tartness, while sweetened condensed milk brings creamy sweetness, complementing the shaved milk ice.
But you don’t have to stop there! You may also want to add:
