Although it can be made with beef, pork, or duck, this recipe focuses on the beef variety.
Beef Bulgogi is usually seasoned with soy sauce. With sweet and salty flavors, even little kids love bulgogi. It is made with ingredients that are commonly available at the local grocery store: shaved beef steak, onions, mushrooms, and Korean seasonings such as garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. The finished product is sweet and savory beef, mushrooms and onions in a delicious broth that is perfect for soaking up with Perfect Sticky Rice or Purple Rice.

Ingredients

- 24 oz Shaved beef steak
- 2 Onions
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 6 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 16 oz Baby bella mushrooms, sliced
- 2 Tbsp Sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 2 Tbsp Brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Scallions
Instructions

First, prepare the ingredients. Slice the onions into 1/3-inch strips. Chop the garlic cloves. Slice the mushrooms, if not pre-sliced.
Preheat a large pan over medium heat and add shaved beef steak. Quickly separate the shaved beef pieces, before they stick together. To the beef, add sliced onions, chopped garlic, soy sauce, and sliced baby bella mushrooms. Then add sesame oil, black pepper, and brown sugar to the skillet.
Place a lid over the pan and cook for 15 minutes, or until all the ingredients are cooked through.
Chop scallions and add them to the bulgogi beef. Serve warm over a bowl of rice or with rice on the side.
